Jo is instructed in serious criminal cases including terrorism, homicide, fraud, drugs, armed robbery, extradition, and in cases involving human rights issues. He is recommended as a leading silk in crime in Chambers and Partners UK and the Legal 500. He is “admired for his performance and conduct at court”, “very proactive and diligent” and known to be someone who “steps up to the plate”.
He is an elected Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn and President of the Society of Asian Lawyers (2013-2016).
Jo is a senior advocacy trainer with Lincoln’s Inn and acts as a supervisor to trainee barristers. He regularly appears as a Judge in mock trials for Metropolitan police training.
He is Vice-chair Equality & Diversity Committee of the Bar Council (member since 2003), and Co-Chair of the Society of Asian Lawyers (since 2013). He has published a number of articles and is a member of a number of professional associations.
